Bobbing for Treats (not apples) 🍎 Water Game:

This is an interactive game between dog & owner. It can be played outdoors or in a room with water resistant floors.

The level of difficulty is a moderate brain tester. We recommend you teach “take it” first.

You will need a basin with water and treats that float, dog towel, and a mat for placing under the basin if playing indoors.

* Select an appropriately sized and weighted basin to resist being tipped by an enthusiastic dog.
* Fill it about 2/3 full with water for extra stability and to reduce spillage.
* The basin’s lip is key, as it makes the dog retrieve floating items by lifting them out rather than just batting them sideways.

Dipping Down For Treats
* Float a treat/ball/toy
* Encourage your dog to “take it.”

For Sensitive Dogs
* To build tolerance, hold the treat in your hand on the surface of the water.
* Gradually lower your hand a fraction further each time.

* Your dog may initially paw at the water to get the item (s).
* They will soon learn they must use their mouth to successfully grab the treat (s) or toy.
* Praise all early attempts (even failures) to keep them from giving up.

* Eventually, your dog should be able to take the treat(s) or toy straight from the surface.
* Practice with different sized treats and toys for fun.
* For a challenge, place different toys on the surface and ask your dog to pick a specific item.

This Chair Game is a fun FOCUS GAME that you and your pet might enjoy! Here’s what it’s all about….

What it’s about?

This calm focus game teaches your dog to look to you-even when something exciting (like a treat!) is right in front of them. It starts with treat placement on a chair to encourage eye contact, and gradually adds movement and distraction.

The goal? Build strong, voluntary check-ins and calm engagement in dynamic settings.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Set the stage - Place a treat visibly on the chair while your dog watches. Let them eat it without a cue.

Wait for the check-in - After they eat the treat, stay still and quiet. When your dog looks up at you, mark it with a “Yes!” and immediately place another treat on the chair.

Repeat the pattern - Allow your dog to eat, pause, and offer eye contact—then reward by placing the next treat.

Add movement - Start alternating where you place the treat: on the ground, then back on the chair, to keep their attention shifting and dynamic.

Introduce distractions - Once your dog consistently checks in, add low-level distractions nearby. Mark and reward every glance toward you.

Trainer Tips:
• Avoid giving verbal cues—let your dog offer eye contact on their own.

• Use this game to reinforce calm check-ins before meals or during downtime.
